The Supreme Court delivered the final hammer blow and declared the lawsuit for damages that Sebastián Dávalos filed against Canal 13 dismissed for lack of prosecution. This lawsuit, which dates back to 2018, saw the son of former President Michelle Bachelet directly accuse the media outlet of libel, slander, and ridicule stemming from the performances of Yerko Puchento.
Consulted on the matter, lawyer Alejandro Espinoza, who represents Canal 13, stated that this ruling concludes a long process where Dávalos was improperly seeking multimillion-dollar indemnities for damage to his honor caused by his own conduct and by situations completely unrelated to Canal 13’s broadcasts.
